Fonterra cannot see what is going on in the vat all the time.
Levno only sends information to Fonterra in the following cases:
Milking
Sent at the end of each milking
- Total volume milked across all vats
- Volume milked for each vat
- We also update the window if 15-day average has changed by 15 minutes
Collection
Sent at the end of each collection
- Average vat temperature at the collection for all vats
- Volume before collection for each vat
- Volume after collection for each vat
- Total volume of all vats before collection
- Total volume of all vats after collection
- Vat temperature at the collection for each vat
Vat exceptions
Sent when an exception is detected
- Type and description of exception:
- Milk Score increases to the next level
- The agitator is not turned on while there is milk in the vat
- Milking is still in progress later than the Milking Time Window expected
Note the only temperature data Fonterra receive is the temperature of the vat at collection, which they get from the tanker anyway. This can act as a point of data to check if a temperature issue occurs at collection.
